HOW IT WORKS
1. ON BOARDING
When first downloading the App, all you need to do is complete filling in your personal contact information by pressing the "Add your personal card" button*. Once complete make sure to press the "SAVE" button and CONGRATULATIONS! You're all set and ready to start using CardEx to exchange business cards and have your contacts database always up-to-date!
From now on, if you're ever required to make any changes to your personal contact information any time in the future, simply press in your home screen anywhere on your card to open it and then on the "Edit" button, update whatever personal information you may need, make sure to press the "SAVE" button and automatically all you CardEx contacts will be notified and updated with your recent changes.
2. EXCHANGING BUSINESS CARDS
From now on, whether interacting with your colleagues face-to-face or not, you can effortlessly exchange business cards, faster and easier than ever before. Use the "SCAN NEW CARD" button* at the bottom of your CardEx Home Screen to exchange your business card with other CardEx users when meeting them face-to-face and don’t forget to fill in your note/comment in the designated field in order to allow you to easily retrieve your partners cards in the future in case you don’t recall their name (this comment field is visible to you only and can be used to tag your contacts by categories and/or any other subjects that will allow you to find your contacts in the future using the designated search by word feature in the received card tool bar).Finally, save each Received Card as a new contact or update an existing one in your phone, by selecting one of the two buttons at the bottom of the screen, or press the “BACK” button at the top of your screen if you do not wish to save changes to your phone contacts.
*When pressing the Scan New Card button simply point your camera at your partners screen so to allow your camera to capture your counterparty's CardEx QRcode. This takes less than a second and it doesn’t matter which party scans the other and as soon as the scan has been complete both sides will receive their counterparty's card information on their screen and the exchange is complete). In some devices entailing advanced features it may be enough for a new device to scan your CardEx QRcode with its camera in order to receive the Link to download the App and receive your CardEx Card.
3. "SHARE YOUR CARD"
In order to exchange business cards other than when interacting face-to-face, simply use the "SHARE YOUR CARD" button at the bottom of your CardEx home screen which allows you to send your business card to your partners when they are not next to you. Press the button and then choose to send your card via email, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger or any of the other platforms available on your phone and, you do not have to worry whether the other party is already a CardEx user or not. If they haven't installed CardEx yet they will automatically be directed to download the App thereafter they will immediately receive your business card and reminded to send their business card back to you as soon as they have completed filling in their CardEx personal business card for the first time.
4. NOTIFICATIONS
When receiving a NEW card or UPDATES for existing CardEx cards the "NOTIFICATION" button at the top of your home screen will light up showing the number of notifications awaiting for you. Pressing the "NOTIFICATION" button will open a list of NEW and/or UPDATED cards, each marked accordingly, and when pressing each one of them, In turn, to view it, you can opt if to export and save it as a new contact or update an existing contact in your phone doing this by pressing the relevant button at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, or, you can press the "BACK" button thereby not exporting changes to your phone contact list and keeping only your CardEx updated.
5. "RECEIVED CARDS"
Press the "Received Cards" Icon at the upper right side of your screen in order to open your received cards screen and use the different Screen and Search features to manage and find your desired contacts.
6. "CARDEX FOR EMAIL"
To benefit the most from CardEx, press on the “CardEx for Email” button in your Menu Bar in order to generate and email yourself a hyperlink to each of your personal CardEx cards. Thereafter incorporate this personal CardEx hyperlink to be an integral part of your automatic email signature, thereby allowing any third party receiving your email to easily save your contact information to his or her CardEx and phone list.
Similarly of course, whenever receiving an email signed with an integrated CardEx hyperlink, simply press on the link from your smartphone screen to view and save senders’ business card to your CardEx and phone.
7. USING "MY CARDS"
Use "MY CARDS" from your menu bar if you need more than one personal card such as, for example, when requiring cards in multiple languages or holding positions in multiple companies. You can set yourself with up to 5 different personal business cards, switching between them by pressing the MY CARDS Icon on the top right hand side of your screen. My Cards icon will show up only once you have selected to have more the one personal card and when using more than one personal card your home page will always remain with your card last chosen.
